"Take me, not him!"
"That is not possible."
"Please... please have mercy."
A cruel smile appeared on the monster's heartless face.
Blood curdling screams pierced my ears,
I closed my eyes, afraid, then slowly opened them.
There was blood on my hands.. blood everywhere.

"N-no..no.."
Ryuu opened his eyes immediately, his face sweaty.
"It was just a dream.." He said looking at his trembling hands. He sighed deeply as he sat up, finding himself in a meadow. His body felt numb as the cold wrapped itself around his body. He tried to get up but winced in pain. "Damn it.." he cursed, annoyed. He closed his eyes and concentrated, trying to remember what had happened. He couldn't think of anything, only red blurs would appear in his mind. He soon felt dizzy, and weak. He strained to keep his eyes open, looking for any sight of creatures or life anywhere. None at all. He tried to fight off the desire to pass out but could not. "I'm so thirsty..." he rasped and fell back to the ground, slowly drifting away into sleep..

Tetsuya sighed to himself. He sat on his porch, staring off at the trees in the distance. He had a cloth in his hand, and was slowly wiping off his dagger. It was already fairly clean, but even then, Tetsuya despised the fact that just a few hours ago it was totally covered and dripping in the blood of his most recent victim. It wasn't that he regretted killing him, Oh, heavens no. He couldn't be more happy that he was helping purge the world of the pathetic human leeches known only as vampires.
He didn't know why he hated vampires so much, there was just something about them that made him feel sick to his stomach. They were filthy, disgusting, and doing nothing for this world except taking up space and scaring humans shitless.
Tetsuya threw the cloth to the side, then slid his dagger into its case in his trench coat pocket. He pulled a package of cigarettes from his back pocket and lit one, holding it between his lips as he walked over to his car, hoping inside and turning it on. He shifted it into reverse and then drive before going up the driveway and out onto the road.

Ryuu awoke a few moments later. Now his whole body ached in pain as he tried to sit up. Ryuu cursed again, trying to move his body into a sitting position and gave up a few minutes later. "Oh well.." Ryuu said staring at the atmosphere around him. He was lying in an enormous bed of flowers. To the right of him was a cluster of scarlet rose bushes. A sheet of snow covered everything around him and beneath him. The icy wind blew harshly against him, nipping his face. He was trembling from being cold and from the great need for blood. "I will die here, and no one will know or care." he said in a monotone voice. He knew what he said was true. He had always been alone. Everyone he loved was lost when he was only twelve, a newborn vampire. He closed his eyes again, trying to ignore the great pain in his chest.

Tetsuya drove for a while, before he pulled over on the side of the road by a forest, where he had killed the previous vampire. He got out of the car, shutting the driver door. He slid his keys into his back pocket. His cigarette by this point was nearly gone, so he took one last drag before throwing it onto the gravel road and stepping on it. He then walked towards the trees, snaking his way around the thick spruce and aspen in his way, the snow covered leaves crunching under his boots. The atmosphere was cold and depressing. He shrugged it off, continuing his walk through the forest. Eventually he came to an open meadow. He looked around, not noticing anything out of the usual. He turned, walking back the other direction into the forest.

Ryuu was laying down with his eyes closed until he heard a sound of something moving past him. He immediately opened his eyes and spied a man nearby. "Finally.." Ryuu said hopefully as he waited for the man to come his direction. To his suprise, the man started walking the opposite direction. "Hey...wait.." Ryuu said weakly. Ryuu became irritated and to his suprise yelled at the top of his lungs, "Hey, WAIT!" His throat burned greatly after he had yelled out, but he kept his concentration on the man, hoping he'd notice him.

Tetsuya was surprised to hear someone yell out to him. He stopped, listening to the sound of the yelling. He turned around, and noticed a small figure of a teenager laying in the snow. He gasped, wondering how in the world he didn't notice him there before. He quickly ran back, ignoring the snow getting into his boots. He knelt beside the boy, examining him. Tetsuya felt panic rush through his body. He had no idea who this boy was or what happened to him, but he didn't look like he was in any condition to remain out in the cold any longer.
"What happened?" Tetsuya whispered softly, checking his pulse.

Ryuu stared at the man for a moment and then replied, "I don't remember.. it's very hard to get up though.." Suddenly, he had a huge urge to attack the man but resisted, controlling himself. He didn't want to use the man as a meal since he seemed helpful, so he innocently smiled and said, "I'm Ryuu, it's nice to meet you. Could you help me?"

Tetsuya was surprised at how pale the boy was, he was almost whiter then the snow itself. He smiled gently, letting his hand rest on the boy's pasty cheek. His skin was cold as well. Tetsuya frowned, he was surprised the boy hadn't already froze to death, but he didn't want to take anymore time. "Of course," he murmured softly, reaching down and scooping Ryuu up into his arms, holding him bridal style. He pulled his own coat from his shoulders and wrapped it around his shoulders. "Do you have any family, Ryuu? Why were you out here all alone?" He asked, his tone gentle as he began to walk back towards the forest. He was going to bring him into his car to keep warm.

Ryuu calmly let the man carry him in his arms. He was warm, and he felt safety in his arms. But there was something about the man that made him a bit suspicious to Ryuu. Ryuu quickly brushed off the suspicion and answered, "They're all dead." He calmly said this without any emotion. "I don't have a home or anything like that either." He wanted to say more but he gritted his teeth together trying to hold back the huge desire for the man's blood. He never had felt such a strong urge to feed off someone this much. He was confused but shook his head and thought, 'I'm just very thirsty, that's all.' He then looked back at the man's face and said, "And you are?"

Tetsuya's bit down on his lip slightly at Ryuu's reaction. His monotone voice somewhat alarmed him, but he just brushed it off. He didn't know what he was going to do about him, he surely couldn't just leave him alone by himself... had he no other option but to bring him home until he gets better? Tetsuya sighed, then looked down at the boy with a soft smile. "My name is Tetsuya," he murmured, clutching the boy closer to his chest. Ryuu's features were soft, his dark hair contradicting his pasty skin. His cheeks a faint shade of pink. If it wasn't for that, he was sure the boy would appear dead. Shaking these thoughts away, he began to walk a bit faster, trying to hurry back to his car.

"It's nice to meet you, Tetsuya." Ryuu said smoothly. He noticed Tetsuya's worried expression and smiled gently. He seemed like a kind person, but a bit of suspicion managed to stick to him. Ryuu rested his head against Tetsuya's chest, and heard the man's heartbeat and the blood flowing in his veins. He quickly moved away, steadily. 'Control yourself.' he thought, sighing. "Or should I call you Tetsu?" he said to Tetsuya with every assurance to himself that he would not end up attacking the man.

Tetsuya smiled softly, "Go ahead," he cooed. He felt his heartbeat speed up as Ryuu laid his head on his chest, only to scrunch up his face and pull away again. He sighed, then pulled a chunk of Ryuu's dark fringe from his eyes to behind his ear. His eyes were a very soft shade of green, but also seemed somewhat sharp and alarming. He bit down on his own lip. There was something about him... that seemed strange. But he easily dismissed it as he forced their way through the trees and undergrowth, finally arriving at his car. He opened the passenger side and set Ryuu in the seat, then pulled out a blanket he kept in the back just in case. He gave it to Ryuu then closed the door, quickly running over to the drivers side, hopping in and starting the vehicle. The blast of warm air coming from the vents felt amazing on his trembling hands. "Do you have a home anywhere, Ryuu?" Tetsuya asked, wanting to start conversation with the boy and find out more about him.

Ryuu felt a bit of disappointment when he was out of Tetsu's arms. He quickly wrapped himself in the blanket Tetsu handed him and moved his hands in front of the vent, letting it warm his hands up. "I don't actually, I usually sleep in whatever secrete place I can find. You could call me homeless I guess." he said making no eye contact with Tetsu, staring out the window to the right of him. He could have lied and said he lived in some home in case Tetsu received any suspicious ideas but decided to tell him the truth anyway.

"Oh," Tetsuya murmured softly, hands gripping the steering wheel tightly as he turned the car on and began to drive. He pursed his lips, staring straight ahead at the road. He had no idea what he was going to do with Ryuu. He didn't have the heart to turn him away into the cold winter weather. Maybe he should offer for Ryuu to stay with him until the weather got warmer? He didn't live with anyone anyways. He just had a pet goldfish. He wasn't married and had no kids, something his Mother would never stop bugging him about, telling him to not come home until he brings back a Grandchild, or something of the sort. He shook the thoughts away, and looked at Ryuu through the corner of his eyes. "Would you like to stay for dinner?" Tetsuya asked him softly, turning his gaze back to the road. "You must be hungry..."

Ryuu looked at Tetsu curiously and nodded saying, "If you don't mind." He was suprised he was offered to have dinner with him. 'He probably just thinks he's giving good service to the needy.' Ryuu thought to himself. "Hey do you think..." Ryuu paused in mid sentence, eyes wide open. His skin turned chalky white, as he fell against the window, hitting his head hard. His head throbbed in pain. 'This is what I get for not nourishing my thirst soon enough..' he thought as everything looked fuzzy around him. He saw Tetsu and opened his mouth to say something, but paused and passed out.

Tetsu heard a small thump, then he turned his head to the side, noticing Ryuu was alot paler then usual and was passed out. He gasped, immediately slamming on the brakes. He didn't even care that he was parked in the middle of the road, no one drove on it anyway. Tetsu unbuckled his seatbelt and leaned over, clasping his hands around Ryuu's cheeks, smacking him lightly, trying to make him regain consciousness. He'd never felt so worried in his life. He moved one hand down to his shoulder and shook him lightly. "Ryuu... Ryuu!" He whispered, "Ryuu!" He shook him more, leaning his head down and pressing his ear to Ryuu's chest, listening for a heartbeat.

For a while, Ryuu was limp, but after a few moments he managed to regain a bit of conciousness, and noticed Tetsu. He couldn't look Tetsu in the face, but he weakly stared at his throat. He shook his head, but couldn't keep his eyes off his throat. He trembled, not knowing what to do. He tried to convince himself not to do it, but it failed. He was too thirsty. "Forgive me, Tetsu." Ryuu said softly as he leaned forward and pulled Tetsu's collar down a bit. He moved his face closer and brushed his lips against Tetsu's throat, breathing heavily and slowly. He was ready to sink in his fangs at any moment.

Tetsuya felt himself freeze up as Ryuu pressed his lips to his neck. His eyes widened as he felt his body tensed up. He didn't know what he was doing, but he trembled under his cold breath. "Ryuu?" He whispered softly, "Are you... feeling okay?" He then gasped, realizing what was happening. His pale skin and sharp eyes... passing out... not having a home. It all made sense now. Ryuu was a vampire. Tetsuya felt the anger inside him flare, but then die down. This felt different. He wasn't getting the feeling he usually got when he faced a vampire. He actually felt... deeply concerned. He felt himself begin to tremble, his fate relying on how hard the boy decided to bite him. He reached out, and gripped Ryuu's hair in his hands, encouraging him. "Hurry up," he hissed softly, closing his eyes and resting his head against Ryuu's.

Ryuu was shocked by Tetsu's reaction, and nodded. He sunk his fangs into Tetsu's throat, as he started to feed. The feeling of warm rushing blood run down inside his throat, was homely to him. He kept on drinking, in pleasure. He wanted to keep drinking until he passed out from being too full. He suddenly remembered Tetsu and moved away quickly from his throat. He wiped his blood-stained mouth with the back of his hand and didn't know what to say. He felt ashamed. He didn't feel weak now and wanted to thank Tetsu but didn't know how to do so. He was still a bit shocked from the fact Tetsu actually allowed him to drink his blood. "Tetsu..tha-..tha.." He was too embarrassed to say 'thank you' so instead he hugged Tetsu tightly, burrowing his face into his chest.

Tetsuya froze, tensing up as he felt Ryuu's teeth bury into his neck. He gasped, fighting back the urge to groan in pain as his teeth sunk in deeper. It seemed like forever until he finally pulled away. Tetsuya couldn't meet his gaze, there was too many emotions pumping through his head, surging through his body. When Ryuu hugged him, he tensed up for a brief moment before letting his body relax as he wrapped his arms around his tiny frame. He felt disgusted with himself. How could he give in to something like this? To a creature he hated so much?
"Ryuu..." Tetsuya whispered, stroking his hair lightly with one hand and ran his other hand along his back and shoulders. He couldn't believe he hadn't realized Ryuu was a vampire, it now seemed so obvious.

Ryuu looked at Tetsu, still feeling embarrassed. Usually he would drink from his victims and leave them passed out somewhere hidden left alone, but now he was hugging one, who let him drink from him. He didn't know what to do, so he quickly moved away a bit and stared at the floor of the car. "Uhm..well then.." he said, nervously. Why was he so nervous when he could easily harm Tetsu and escape? He didn't want to do such a thing though, he was horrified at the thought of it. He sat there, rethinking of what had occurred when he had drunk Tetsu's blood. Tetsu's blood had been the sweetest and the most delicious blood he'd ever tasted. He then looked back at Tetsu's neck. "Uhm.. you might want to cover that up." he said pointing to the puncture marks on his neck.

"Yeah..." Tetsuya whispered softly, then sitting back down in his own seat. He pulled his own hair from his face, where beads of sweat were dripping down. He was trembling. He reached down to his shirt, buttoning it up more so it covered up his neck. Once he finished, he set his hands on the wheel, beginning to drive again. He tried to ignore everything that just happened, but he couldn't. His neck was throbbing, and he flinched occasionally at the pain. Ryuu had been out alone in the cold four hours; Tetsuya couldn't let himself forget that. He needed somewhere to stay, and he couldn't just kick him out of his car and drive away. Not now. Not ever. He couldn't even bring himself to simply picture himself throwing the poor, frail boy from the car. He rubbed his forehead, stressed.

Ryuu stared out of the window, telling he needed to give Tetsu some space. He couldn't think about something else, he just sat there confused. Why did Tetsu allow him to drink his blood? 'It doesn't matter..' Ryuu thought trying to concentrate on something else, but he couldn't no matter how hard he tried to. "Tetsu.." he breathed deeply, "why did you allow me to drink your blood?" he said looking at Tetsu straight in the eye. "Be honest.." he added slowly.

Tetsuya didn't even reply, his gaze just remained looking out the front window as he drove. "I don't know," He replied softly, then turned his glance to the side to meet his green eyed gaze with his own golden one. "And let me ask you something, Ryuu..." his voice turned soft as he gripped the wheel tightly. It felt as if this car ride was going on forever. "Why did you spare me? Why didn't you just suck me dry? Aren't you aware.... there's people out there, Ryuu, people who would kill you in the blink of an eye if they realized what you are. You need to be more careful. Just... just be glad I'm not one of those people." He whispered, lying through his teeth. "Oh, never mind. I'm sure you're well aware of that, right? So tell me why... you spared me."
